Our preschool program focuses on a activity and station based curriculum to keep your kids moving, learning, and having a blast.

This program is available for 2.5-5 year olds (NO CUTOFF DATE) looking for half day options.

Children must have started potty training to enroll. Children bring their own snack, water bottle, and change of clothes daily.

The Fit City Kids’ Half-Day Preschool Program will provide educational experiences that ensure your children will enjoy learning while developing the critical skills needed to be successful in kindergarten.

Fit City Kids believes in providing a nurturing environment where children develop emotionally, socially, cognitively and physically through center based lessons and activities.

Each child is given the opportunity to play, explore, discover, gain a sense of self, develop self- esteem, and learn to cooperate with others.

It is important to us that every child has a positive learning experience.

In this program children are offered a variety of individual and group activities that enable them to learn including weekly lessons of: -Music -Tumbling -Foreign Language.

Our curriculum is designed to offer children a variety of opportunities to learn through active play.

The classrooms offer areas for blocks, quiet areas, dramatic play, science, art, and math.

Lesson plans are created by teachers and progress reports help meet the needs of each child in the program.

Introducing Brender! Brender brings over 30 years of teaching experience in early childhood education. She designed and implemented an engaging curriculum for students by following the Common Core State Standards. She was responsible for classroom academic progress delivered through lesson plans. Implemented school curriculum and used data to create, monitor, and establish personalized learning plan for each student. She successfully received class materials through “Donors Choose” grants. She also took the initiative to organized and take the lead on projects, field trips, and graduations.
Being a key player on her grade level team, she has proven to be a dedicated, hardworking, caring, and a nurturing educator who creates a fun classroom learning environment, where students feel safe to take risk and make mistakes. She also encourages a strong partnership with families to foster growth and development in their children. Her high expectations and effective management skills have proved a yearly reading success rate of 80-95%. Being an early childhood educator has been very rewarding for her.

Fun Facts:
Brender recently retired from the Chicago Public Schools.
She enjoys family gathering, especially doing fun things with her 3 rambunctious grandsons!
She also likes shopping, traveling, attending plays and concerts.
Another passion of Brender loves doing is party planning.

Vanessa Abreu-Small

Introducing Vanessa! Vanessa has been been teaching in the early childhood field for well over 10
years. She has aided Centers in achieving NAEYC accreditation and is familiar with their learning
standards. These standards have aided in providing these ECE programs with the best learning
experiences for young children and provide the highest quality professional preparation of educators by
meeting national standards of quality. Vanessa is skilled in curriculum planning / implementation and
classroom management. She loves the ECE field and find it to be the most rewarding. Working with
preschool age has taught her so much it has constantly reminded her of many life lessons such as
enjoying life’s simple pleasures and to have fun and be different. We get to be silly every day! What can
be better than that? lastly, Vanessa is grateful that she gets to be a part of these littles personal and educational
growth.
